All NE zones updated - SST 20% cloudy "ALERT" Hot afternoon air temperatures have caused ocean surface temperatures to display unrealistic temperatures by as much as 3 to 4 degrees in some areas. Over night or early morning shots are not subject to this intense "overheating" of ocean surface and therefore are more consistent with actual real world temperatures. For example Buoy data readouts at , lets say 4 pm which are typically 12 to 24 inches below the surface may read 70 degrees and a 4 pm satellite shot of the same given time may display temperatures between 71 and 75! Be aware of these differences. The same satellite pass overnight or early morning will most like be no more then a 1 degree difference.
