Dear Member or Visitor

With the help of a lot of coffee, we were able to launch our new smart phone/smart pad compatible mapping interface overnight. We have left the old interface intact for the time being to aid in the transition over to the new interface. The new interface can be accessed by going to the members area and logging in as usual. Once past the login, the selection map shows new addition that has been added that directs you to the new interface. Simply click on it and you will be taken to the new setup instead of the old interface. You may use both at any time.

The new interface as it sits today is a bare bones first version that does everything (plus a few extra things) that the old version did. The majority of all the new features have not been installed yet however that's what we will be doing this week. We have listed the first version features below that are all new and not included in the old interface. (For GPS position navigation, make sure that GPS tracking on your phone or device is activated or you will not see any GPS position marker on the chart.)

* Display current GPS position on chart (tracking and navigation on next version)
* Save current chart for offline use after phone service is lost offshore
* Save up to 4 other charts for offline use
* Use by laptop, smart phones, smart pads, iphones and pads and all other premier devices
* Three modes of lat lon display traditional, GPS and decimal
* Information bubble now shows bearing
* Turn waypoints mode on and off

The new interface requires no apps or third party software. It had been tested on all the following browsers however I personally like Google chrome the best.

* Google Chrome
* Firefox
* Internet Explorer 9 (**will NOT run properly on IE 8 or below)
* Safari

Ok... remember ..this is bare bones first version,,, We are currently doing some phone related navigation upgrades to make buttons and controls easier to manipulate on the phones. Lots of brand new features will also be added in very short order. Our aim is to make the interface as perfect and easy to use as possible.

I will keep you updated with more to follow as we progress...

Thank You
Fred
